mushies in cow dung, need ID
    #1335924 - 02/25/03 06:14 PM (21 years, 27 days ago)

i came across a heap of mushies growing in cow dung today..
its been raining on and off all week and is expected to keep up until sunday, as well as 90% humidity. unfortunately i found these well after they had been exposed to sunlight. they didn't stain blue, possibly because they were partially dry, although some blue/purple patches were observed on some of the caps and stems. i'll be returning early tomorrow morning to pick the fresh ones, and will post my finds. can anyone ID these for me? i'd love to take advantage of this weather while it lasts. thanks

You're on the right track, but from the pictures you've shown they appear to be some sort of Panaeolus, possibly campanulatus....which are unactive.

The last one looks like P. antillarum...

Keep searching. You'll probably find something of interest soon..

thanks for the replies..
here are a few more crazy mushies i found which didn't make the first cut. like i said before, each of these were found growing in cow manure. i doubt they're active but an ID might help.

well the first on is definately bad. white gills usually means that they are poisonous though not allways. in other words dont even take the chance with white gills u might end up dead. i dont know about that orange capped one. the yellow one might be an amanita im really just guessing here but one things for sure dont even touch any of those until someone like mj or toxic ids them. peace

i have a misunderstanding with what angryshroom said,
acording to him the very 1st picture is Psilocybe coprophila
but according to this site
http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/magic_mushrooms_aunz/magic_mushrooms_aunz6.shtml#21
it isnt active

can anyone clear this up for me

Nope, Ps. coprophilia nor the panaeolus mentioned are active.

Yep, both are inactive... All the mushrooms that he posted should not be ingested.

I think on the second gallery of mushrooms, your first picture resembles a Lepiota, the orange one maybe a Galerina, and the yellow one is too small to ID for me.
