Hey guys i was just wondering if anyone from the netherlands has found anything active. i have been in the woods and on the fields regularly for the last couple of weeks, but still with no luck. i have been keeping my eyes wide open for: -Psilocybe semileanceata -Psilocybe stuntzii -Psilocybe cyanescens -Psilocybe azurescens -Psilocybe baeocystis -Panaeolus cyanescens
its not fair i live in a coastal town BTW we have a pine forest, dunes, cows everywhere, and leaf forests too...

just back to the hunting forum after a while away. seems no one has found any liberty caps yet? i'm annoyed because im in the states next week and not back in amsterdam until november. hopefully, with this warm air, and now cooling...we'll get some popping up over the next few weeks. and hopefully i won't return too late. keep your eyes out for the cyans too!

If you think they were P. baeocystis and you tossed them without checking here first don't be complaining! But they probably weren't. I would focus on Psilocybe semilanceata, looking in sheep fields, if I were you, and forget about all those other things for now.

always look, keep tabs on the weather, memorize pictures and charateristics, eventually you will find them, and that is a sweet sweet reward

Did I miss the Netherlands becoming a tropical place? Try places like Florida, Hawaii, Thailand, etc if you are looking for that species. Really, if you are out there hunting for Pan cyans in Northern or Central Europe (in late fall at that!) you have some serious homework to do.

None of these grow wild in the Netherlands. You would have to stumble upon someones outdoor bed to find them. The only ones worth looking for if you want good distribution, yield and potency is Psilocybe semilanceata.

http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-psilocybin-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area
says:
Holland (The Netherlands) Gymnopilus junonius Gymnopilus purpuratus Inocybe aeruginascens Inocybe corydalina var. corydalina Inocybe corydalina var. erinaceomorpha Inocybe haemacta Panaeolus cinctulus Pluteus salicinus Psilocybe cyanescens Psilocybe liniformans var. liniformans Psilocybe puberula Psilocybe semilanceata Psilocybe serbica Psilocybe strictipes
the pan cyans might be a bit optimistic lol

The Psilocybe cyanescens might have made themselves at home in the Netherlands, that's true. However, they grow in a different habitat than Psilocybe semilanceata does. In the Netherlands you will have found a pound of Psilocybe semilanceata before you will find a single Psilocybe cyanescens.

Hey, by no means do I want to discourage you from looking for cyans, but if you want to find actives soon to have a good time then P. semilanceata seriously is your best bet.

Heh , You won't have much luck in the woods, or you would have increddible luck finding some cyans
Check out some good 'ol fields or pastures with some grazing cattle on them. Preferrably on sandy soil. Old fields that were undisturbed for the last 10 years or so are the best.
The dunes are another option but the active psilo species that grow there are also quite rare in holland.
I'm from friesland btw but i've found semi's as far south as maastricht

problem is that we dont have as many pastures here as in Frieslân, lol. and i dunno if the owners would be pleased with me and my buddy strolling around between their cows.
