floating cakes in dunking?

uh i just filled the jars with water and im dunking my cakes but they floated and like the second half of the cake is only covered in water and the other part is floating, should i be fine?

You should put them in a container so they are completely submersed in water.

I don't think that they can be completely sumbmersed...probably less dense than H20.  :tongue:

They are, I just put them into a container and held them down while I poured in water.  I then had to really quickly put the lid on before the cake came back up and pushed all the water out.  I'm high.  I'm not sure if that makes sense.  :smirk:

You (the original poster) should just be able to fill the jars with water. If there is a little air in there it won't hurt.

i use an ice cream bucket - i fill it to the brim and put the cakes in... then i close the lid, which holds the cakes under

when i dunk my cakes, i put them in a big pot, then lay a plate on top of the cakes to hold them down....seems to work fine, if you dont mind a little bruising :smirk:

Just use a ziplock bag and force all the air out of the bag so only water is in there.
