Advice on fruiting chamber.
    #1311829 - 02/16/03 12:05 PM (21 years, 2 months ago)

Alright, so stuff came up and i cant use my fishtank anymore so i have found a kick ass thing i could use, its an old trunk that i could spray with hydro peroxide to sterilize but the only problem is i can put perlite on the bottom cuz it will drip thru so i need some help on developing a system to humidify, i have a fishtank bubbler and a Fish tank heater and a big bag of perlite.

Any suggestion would be great. ill post pics of it shortly.

That's my setup.

Here are some more ideas for you:

Adding a heater to any of these setups will increase the RH.
All these Setups have a RH of 99%.
You can try it out, but you'll need to drill holes stuffed with polyfill to keep out contams.

Good luck!

You could spray down the whole inside down with a real thick paint/ sealer. Then it would be jsut like a giant rubbermaid.. Put a piece of plexi glass on top and ur gonna be pimpin...

Paint the inside with epoxy based boat paint and you are in buisness. Once cured, it is not toxic and can even be used as the inside lining for a salt water fish tank, I've discovered

Do you think you could find a tupperware/rubbermaid container that'd fit inside?
The trunk would be GREAT (obviously) for keeping it all inconspicuous.
How are you running the wires for (heater/bubbler/whatever) into the trunk?

Buy a cheap shower curtain ($2 @ Walmart) and measure + cut pieces of it to fit on all sides, and the lid of your trunk. Then tape them with that clear packaging tape (plastic.. not a contam issue like I haer duct tape is)...

That would waterproof it atleast. I'd them proceed to put weather stripping somewhere around the lid if necessary to ensure a tight seal.
