For me, I'd say
woodland national anthem - by the arcade fire magnesium light - dreamend and pletzturra - infected
any songs or artists to suggest?

you should get the Amorphous Androgynous compilation called A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding in your Mind Volume I...
various artists put thru effects banks and mixed by the people from Future Sound of London...
that is some music to trip to... you will NOT regret this unless you are a 2x4 stud in the wall of a small town police department... hahahaha
if ya need a link

+5 for deadboy & the Elephantmen and Acid Bath
If This is Hell Then I'm Lucky is far and away one of THE most under-appreciated and most psychedelic albums of all time, and Acid Bath is one of a kind
although I would definitely replace some of those other choices with The Doors, Syd Barrett, Ananda Shankar, Ravi Shankar, Cream, Pink Floyd, Country Joe & the Fish, the Future Sound of London
AFI & Mudvayne aren't my thang, but to each their own. Arcturus is another good choice if you're into avante-garde/melodic blackmetalish music

Im a Tool fan first hehe and i know mudvayne is heavy, but Tool and Mudvayne share content.. The tree of life being one. i study it along w/ various other spiritual concepts. Mudvayne is centered around mushrooms too.. i love dax though i met him already and seen a few deadboy concerts. i have a ton of demo songs and the like.
Just curious where u from? I like the doors for sure and def pink floyd never heard of the others though

I've found that youtube and internet searches aren't the best way for the uninitiated to get acquainted with him, so I started uploading stuff to youtube (still need to upload more). There are already some great classics up but harder to find
He really is one of the best singers and songwriters ever. He is truly something
this might make things easier:
Waking Up Insane
The Hangman's Daughter
Strange Television
Tomorrow We Jump
Endsmouth (hearing this on LSD was EEEEEEEEEEEEEPIC)
Filling Empty Holes
Otherworldly Dreamer (first live performance...fucking incredible once he really starts getting into it)
A Song That Crawls (one of the lyrics in this vid is wrong, it's actually "kissed my eyelids she did")
Like the Dead Would Laugh
Big Black Backwards
Heart of Green (one of my all-time very very favorites...so beautiful)
the Misadventures of Dope
Fly On the Eye of the Lamb (quite possibly my favorite recording ever. I was at this show. the ending part is subtle but so powerful if you really listen. His voice is golden)
Evil Hides
Quiet Doom
Wither
Perfect Dreaming Skull
Otherworldly Dreamer (demo)
Phantom Green
Theme
Tower of Song (one of the best covers of any song ever, imo)
Thing in a Jar
