recently decided to slack off on the fatty cows milk and switch to new milk.
i firstly made cashew milk, it taste good with honey added, im still trying to get the taste down path when drinking it straight -its so rich and thick.
however it makes me wonder is there anything that could go wrong if i consume too many cashews, after learning that soy milk can alter males, i question healthy things in large dosages.

Hey there Fern. It's awesome that you're taking the interest and initiative to create your own healthy milk.
Soy milk isn't intrinsically a bad thing. The reason some people are having health problems from too much soy is because most of the world's soy supply has become GM (Genetically modified). In this particular instance the Genetic modification has had an unforeseen effect on the soy. Since this GM soy has a great immunity to glyphosate, which happens to be one of the main herbicides used in treating this crop, this has caused the plant to produce greatly increased levels of the hormone estrogen. Now, taking in too much estrogen, or any hormone is very dangerous, and can cause cancer. This is why soy is no longer a "healthy" option. UNLESS you are buying certified organic NON-GMO soy products.
I realize this may be way more info than you were looking for, but hey. Knowledge is power!

only 60% of the worlds soy is from GMO seed, a very high percentage but when you see that the majority of that is going into animal feeds the percentage that people are consuming is much lower, in fact in the US, 98% of our soy crops are designated for livestock.
fermentation is claimed by some to be required for the product to be considered healthy

thanks for the heads up, i know a little about GMO seeds they mention it on Food inc. i will probably still give soy a chance.
going back to the cashews now, i found this on yahoo answers:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080310091302AAkdC8A
>Cashews are a healthy food, but very very rich in fat. So more than a 1/4-1/2 cup a day is getting into the high ranges, unless you are very thin.
i eat more than that already a day, then if i want to consume cashew milk, which is 1 cup of cashews to little over 4 cups of water, is this 'ok'. im ruffly 155-160 pounds.
thanks so much

I bet that would taste good in some coffee. I have never heard of cashew milk until now. Not really a milk drinker but i do like my coffee a bit lighter than black. I might have to look into that.

easy stuff
http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&q=how%20to%20make%20cashew%20milk&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbo=u&tbs=vid:1&source=og&sa=N&tab=wv&fp=5b1fceef9c80000d
get a cup of cashews, soak overnight, drain and rise, add to blender with 4 cups of water, blend and add more/less water to fit your cream/milk desire.
i'm planing to consume a great deal, is it bad in high amounts...?
