UK ID request please

Habitat: 1st Aug. Woodland area (country park) in England, not in the actual forest, but out on the edge of a path surrounded by long grasses.
Gills: Brown - a lighter shade of brown than liberty caps, but attached in the same way as liberty caps.
Stem: Approx 100mm long, 2mm in diameter, quite brittle.
Cap: Diameter: approx 15mm, color: light brown/bage/cream , texture: smooth/dry like an apple skin, spherical cap.
Spore print color: Not bothered to do a spore print because I won't be eating it.
Other information: It looks like a liberty cap but without the nipple on top. Not as sticky and more rounded.
Hi, this is my first ID request. I was out looking for liberty caps (very optimistically at this time of year) when I came across this little guy, so I thought I'd take it home and have a bit of fun trying to ID it.
The pictures aren't great but they came out better than I could have hoped for with the camera I was using.
I know there's no spore print but don't be afraid to try and ID it anyway - I will NOT be eating it on this occasion. But if there's a chance it could be active, I will go and find more and make spore prints. I see a lot of these around my area so I just want to know what they are.
Thanks for your help

No, It's way too warm here. But someone found a few last week in England so I thought I'd try my luck. I had a nice walk though anyway.

So, anyone got any ideas? I'm not looking for a 100% sure ID, but a few suggestions would be nice. Thanks
