NWFlorida Mushroom ID Request Please
    #12858437 - 07/06/10 07:18 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Habitat:
All were found in a grassy clearing, with a few oak trees scattered about in Fort Walton Beach. The larger one stood alone, near bright, deep orange shrooms with 1.5inch thick yellowish stems. The smaller ones were found ~30 yards away, a few inches apart from one another.

Gills:
-The gills on the large one were a light violet color, which turned to a brownish color minutes after picking.
-The gills on the smaller ones were an offwhite color when picked and turned slightly gray/violet after being picked.

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
-The stem of the larger one is precisely 2.25" in length and 1/4" thick. With the color being light gold/off-white near the base, fading into a light brown/violet color near the stem, much like the original color of the gills. Glistening in the light.
-The stems of the smaller ones vary from 1" to 1.5" in length, 1/8"-1/4" in thickness, fibrous and almost solid, with a tunnel about the width of a toothpick running up them. The color is a golden/offwhite through, glistening in the light.

Cap:
-the cap of the larger one was 3.5" in diameter, off white in color, fading into violet near the edges (which turned slightly brownish after picking much like the gills). Flat for the most part, silken and smooth.
-The caps of the smaller ones ranged from 3/4"-1.25", with the younger one being slightly conical in shape, the older being kinda like an umbrella. Color was a orange/brown/goldish (indecisive there, sorry, ha) which glisten in light.

Spore print color:
Have not taken a spore print yet, will update later.

Bruising:
No visual bruising on any of them at all.

Other information:
Larger one smelled semi sweet on the top of the cap, and much like a typical mushroom beneath, the smaller ones had no noticeable smell at all, earthy if anything.

edit: Thanks in advance and all apologies in advance if I've left out any vital info required for ID (I know the spore print, im working on it, I literally just snagged em)

The large on is an Agaricus and the smaller ones are Agrocybe praecox.

Nice ID request.

I should have known I'd not be so lucky so close to home >.<

Cheers for the speedy ID though!
