Nice pictures.

How do they smell?

I have heard that species is toxic.  They don't seem to stain blue, they just have blue stem bases.

Can you check the microscopic characteristics?

They didn't have too much of an aroma (at least compared to the Fall collection which had a nice bakery aroma). They have blue bases but upon picking the bluing can get more pronounced, or that is what I recall from last year.

Unfortunately, I didn't think it was worth keeping them so no.

I will keep an eye out for them next time and see what I can find.

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Thank you for the kind words. According to the book Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest, this is likely Inocybe hirsuta var. maxima and is oftentimes misidentified as Inocybe calamistrata (which is smaller). Page 165.

I don't see the red staining that I would expect from Inocybe hirsuta var. maxima.

Maybe it is this species.
