It is lost in that post and everyone would have to read that post to find it. I need more answers. I find it funny how you will not let people ask questions. This is a message board. I have read hours and hours and hours and the reason I ask my questions here is to get a general idea from everyone. What are message boards for? Are they for information so people can learn or are the for people who already know everything to come and just to chat (that seems to be the case). If I followed FAQ then I would never remove the tape. This is the PF Tek and nowhere does it say anything about removing the tape.

Well there you go. Don't remove the tape then. Airflow is key when you use grains, but not necessary when you use BRF.

only take the tape off if the jars stall, otherwise it's not needed

Since I have 2 people here that seem to have good answers may I ask why PF Tek says after incoulation you should keep the jars around 70 degrees in indirect light but in these different message boards most say keep them dark and warm ideally 86 degrees while the mycelium grows. I find that there is alot of conflicting things and maybe it is because the PF Tek was written a while back and better things have been discovered by people like you. This batch of cakes I have now placed in the dark with a temp of 85 degrees. All previous cakes I had just left on my desk at 75 degrees. I will see how these progress. I inoculated these cakes on friday night (almost 3 days ago). Previously I always used more spores than recomended (1cc). This time I used 1cc. I must say that is somewhat hard to dose that little amount (.25cc) into each hole. My needle got plugged a couple times but all in all I think it worked out.
