Good luck. You have to be pretty strong and in good shape to do that.

Now that you have thought about it, don't do it.

I am with you. I have limited knowledge and experience, but did climb 3 peaks in the Bolivian Andes "cerbeza de condor" and "huyana potosi"
Totally amazing experience, most of the people in the alpine huts couldn't handle the altitudes and bailed before the summit. It is unbelievable to walk through the dark in the wee hours only to get to the top of 20,000+ft mountain as the sun is rising over the seemingly endless horizon. When i look at the photos, it is hard to believe it is me doing something so momentous.
When i can afford it, i am going to take a mountaineering course. In the meantime i am going to start climbing at a gym this summer, and sometimes i read a bit about it..
In Canada we have a club called "the alpine club of Canada" and the BC mountaineers which is equivalent to "the mountaineers" in the US ... so i may join the Vancouver chapters to see if i can find someone to show me the ropes.. (although i am not quite ready to dive in just yet.)
I scored some old (but good condition) scarpa mountaineering boots at the thrift store for $14!
Here's some photos of my climbing in Bolivia:
Strangely i don't have the good ones uploaded, so i will do that now:

Oh man, that looks amazing. I've always wanted to take up mountaineering, I have a friend who climbs a little and all I here is awesome stories. I am going to have to check out that link posted.
Oh and those pictures are beautiful. Nothing quite like mother nature!!!!
