Starting a Career as a Pharmacist?

Does anyone here work around or as a pharmacist?
I'm thinking this would be a good career choice to look into, but I want to know if there is too much competition for this field. Also, does anyone know exactly what a pharmacist does in a given day.

I have a friend who's entire family are pharmacii and she says it's an awesome career choice because the demand has always been much bigger than the supply. Maybe that's just in the midwest, but they love it.

My sister was working as one there for a bit. Gotta take a class first, get a license that cost like 300 or 400 bucks, can't remember, than deal with low pay for the first six months, than it starts looking better.

You'd probably just be filling scripts, filling out paperwork, and making phone calls.
It takes a lot of schooling though. I'm pretty sure you have to a B.A. or B.S., then you have to earn a Pharm.D before you can be licensed as a pharmacist.

I have two friends that are going through school to become pharmacist's. It looks like a good career seeing as how you will always be able to find a job once you get all schooled up and turn out. I'm sure it is just like any other career someone chooses when they are young. Gotta stick to it and put up with some bs along the way, but once you get there it's gravy baby.

I believe the requirements vary by state, although the trend is toward the requirement of a "PharmD" degree to be a pharmacist.
Many schools offer a "PharmD" in a 6 year course of study. There is competition to get in, but afterwards there is little competition for actual jobs.
Pharmacists are relatively highly paid, but top out quickly which affects your overall "career earnings".
The pharmacists I know will tell you that the customer service aspect is the part of the job they hate most of all. Talking to, and waiting on customers. Once a customer gets pissed off at the tech because THEY don't understand why their medication is so expensive, the Pharmacist is called. Other pharmacists feel that they are underappreciated since generally, the prescribing physician over rides all their authority.
On top of it all there's the paperwork.

I could never be a pharmacist. I'd nab like five Opana 40s a day.

If you fuck up bad once and they drug test you, say goodbye to your pharmacy license haha.
Which is why I'm going to be a lawyer, private practices FTW.

Pharmacists get pretty good pay
I think a lot of you are thinking about Pharmacy Assistant which takes a lot less time/effort to be than a Pharmacist. A Pharmacy Assistant usually doesn't make more than $20/hr.

Are you sure you aren't talking about a pharmacy technician (I think that is what they are called). A PharmD requires about 4 years of school after undergrad, its not just a class. Also you start off at around 90K AFAIK
