Greetings folks I was looking through Stements book on Psilocybes and Psilocybe fimetaria really cought my attention as it would seem to be an ideal candidate for outdoor cultivation in my neck of the woods (ontario) and being a dung lover would provide another stratagy for perrenial cultivation in cold climates as compared to the lignicolous species. Unfourtunatly there seems to be little information (even less than that which is available P. quebecensis which is another i want to try outdoors) online in what i will admit was a quick search (more searching to be done but asking hear to) and i am hoping someone might have some experiance or information or dare i hope a source for spores. Any information would be great though i hope to go collect some P. quebecensis this fall as i woulod like to get a few species growing outdoors as part of my outdoor fungal cultivation project this year. (edibles, ornamentals and magics) Thanks Slart

well p fims are quite rare. if you search in the hunting section you wont see too many finds. i know ive been searching for them for years. i did possibly find a p subfimetaria or p sierra depending on what you call them last season but i failed to seperate them and send them off for microscopic id. as it was my first day of the season hunting and i wasnt thinking right. p quebec is also quite rare but i know someone did find some last season. i wish you luck hunting for them and we would all in the hunting forum enjoy seeing them if you find em.

Thanks for the reply, A friend of mine has an insanly good eye when it comes to hunting down mushrooms and i will be enlisting her skills this year to track down anything interesting and i will be sure to post any finds in the hunting section. It would be nice to try cultivating these species and spreading the spores. Slart

P quebecensis was reported in the "vallée de la jacques-cartier"
Its seem that its the place where it has been found first. I think that the mycology club of quebec found 1 or more specimens there in the last years.
The vallée is up north of Quebec city
