Damp rid must be in contact with the same air as the thing you are trying to dry.

Drying out your shrooms is what you want...

And like EdgeChaos  said. It has to be able to be in contact with the same air as the mushrooms are. So, put the mushrooms in a container like you already have, put the dmp rid in the container like you already have, then put a lid over it all so no more air can get in.

Oh, ok there you go. Yea, that would work for long-term storage, but not for active drying.

For drying fresh shrooms, place them some damp-rid on the bottom of the container, and suspend some wire mesh above the damp-rid. Place shrooms on mesh. Volia. They will dry much quicker this way.

That aluminum foil will be even harder to use. Unless you use multiple layers. Anything will work really, long as the shrooms are not touching the damp-rid.

You can actually grab plastic wire mesh at most hardware stores. It's about 89 cents per role and is SO easy to cut. But, like I said aluminum foil will work, too.
