Just wanted to throw it out there. It won the Nobel Prize for Literature a couple of years ago. I enjoyed the book. There is some discussion of philosophy and politics (it's banned in China) but it's mostly an exploration of human nature, sexuality and culture. It's a bit slow at times and I think the translation probably isn't as good as it could have been, but overall a great read. Highly recommended.



On a completely unrelated note, check out Brad Mehldau's Jazz version of Dear Prudence - all instrumental - 100x better than the original.
