well its the only way i know how. alot of people have this species of trich...
and as most know it doesn't like water much. looks really bad but its contained
the problem
the solution
now not everyone has a strong fan like this but any fan will work. the key is isolation and dry to the touch.
the rot has now stopped. the soil is becoming dry. no need to panic.
BONUS-4ribbed pup. who knows how long it wil continue like this but its cutie right now.

Unless you planted it like a log. Then it would appear you are pretty fuckered. Another reason I don't plant cacti this way.

I disagree, I have used the same method ferrel_human is speaking of and it works great , but I wouldn't always recommend this way of treating rot, each situation is different so just go with what works best.
The cacti I have used this method on have been alive for 2 years since getting the evil rot, they are perfectly fine.
I think logs are an awesome way to plant bridgesii, I always get a ton of pups doing it this way, more so than doing it the normal way.

I have a feeling the rot just went dormant. I would be willing to bet that as soon as you water that in the spring, bam, rot city. But experiment away and keep us posted.
