long time no see folks....
got another question for all of ya..
i recently started a new grow cycle, and decided to give karo water a try.....
i went through the whole routine, and everything is hunkey dory..... no contams or anything... what i do have is 4 little balls of myc growing, they are about 1/4 of an inch in size....
my question is, how long should i let them grow? will they get much bigger? will they spread out?
i left them alone for about 2 weeks.... (i dont have an incubator, the temps fluctulate in the 70s)
i shook them up a bit today to see if i could get them to grow some more.....
will those 4 little balls be enuff to fill a 10cc syringe?>
any input is much apprecieated and stuff...

-shake the jar every other day for a week
-keep the jar in your incubation chamber for 1 week

um, that dosnt really answer my question...
i was looking for a bit more informed answer, preferably from someone who has actually done the tek before, not just read the former posts about it......

If you shake every other day for a week as subgenious said the mycelium will start spreading more evenly.

You really need to get your temps up. 85 is nice, but even 80 will be OK, 70???? dont't think so. The stuff will keep growing until you see the liquid get a light yellow. That means they ate all the good shit.
You do have enough to innoc.a few jars. All that is necessary is a small piece of the mycilium. The more the better, though.
I did Kayro and added Neutrional Yeast. Tek is at Nan's Nook ( Sorry I don't have the link, do a search for Neutional Yeast.
Anyway I shoot 1cc of EQ in there on 12/4/02. Been in the fridge for a week.

ya, things move along slowly when ya incubate at room temp, but its all i can do for now.....
its good to know that it will keep on growin... i wasnt sure if it was gonna stall out and die any time soon.... considering its floating around in water.. i guess ill leave it for another week or so and see what it looks like...
hopefully they will get bigger, cuz right now i think i only have enuff for like 4 jars :P......

Can you maybe put them near a heater, or vent in a container of some sort? A few degrees really make a difference. Just watch your temps closely if near the vent, don't want to over do it.

ahhh, that pic helps alot...
my water looks nothing like that, its crystal clear with about 4 tiny little puffs of myc floating around....
i only used a 1/2 teaspoon of karo in the water tho....
it was perfectly clear when it was done pressure cooking.....
as it is now....

Thats the difference the NY makes. Its like steroids for Mycillium. This is the first time I did NY & Kayro and I am really sold on it. I shot up some WBS with it so we'll see how it goes from here.

well, it seems to be spreading out a bit, im shaking the fuck out of it every once and a while.....
funny thing tho, i checked an old karo jar i made a few months ago...
it was my 1st spore syringe attempt and i was sure it failed, but for the fuck of it i shot a few ccs into some karo water... i checked it every few days for a week, then forgot about it....
today i check it on whim, and the fucker is full of little clouds..... its not as bulky as yours looks, but its still got a bunch in there....
i just wonder if its still viable..
they have been in there for well over a month , not refrigrated... they dont look dead...
i think im gonna try innoculateing some jars with it this weekend....
i shall post an update....

Wow, nice find. I sure would think thats its good. I've had some last two months. As long as you don't see contam should be good to go.
