I use Pokerstars, I tend to go up and down.
I once took third in like a 3,000 person tourny
and won a good $400.

Online poker is a ton of fun. I've just recently moved up from 10NL to 25NL at Absolute Poker. It's great, I've invested nothing, I won $1 in a freeroll tournament at PokerStars (lucking out at like 20th place out of something like 6K players 4 and a half months ago) I threw it on a $.01/$.02 table and started grinding it into a small 2NL bankroll. Soon I was multitabling 14 $.01/$.02 no-limit hold'em tables, once my bank roll reached $150 about a month and a half later I moved to $.02/$.05, grinded away until I had $300 and then moved to the $.05/$.10

I played 10NL until I had just over $500 on PokerStars, then I withdrew and put the $500 on Absolute Poker about a week ago, I started 10-tabling at AP but there software is just to fast for 10 tables and I couldn't keep up. So for the last week I've just been sticking with 4 tables, I reached my goal for moving up to the next stakes of $750 last night and I've been 4-tabling 25NL ever since.

I know the stuff about the scandal, but this site seems very legit to me. I've noticed at $.10/$.25 there is a lot more light 3-betting going on than at the previous limits, also I really need to improve at figuring out when to second barrel the turn after an opponent flats my continuation bet on the flop. I've found some of the regs are pretty decent at calling my flop c-bet and taking the pot away from me on a later street. I'm still pretty much owning at 25NL so far, there are still plenty of fish there.

Thank you for reading my micro-limit freeroll-bankroll story

Please incourage everybody you know to play online poker, everybody should do there part to make these games as soft as possible.

i play fultilt and pokerstars

just a warning about ABSOLUTE POKER:

that software has twice been the subject of cheating scandals (both have been proven)

just google absolute poker cheating. russ hamilton ran one hacker ring that stole over 20 million.

stay away from absolute.

Ansolute Poker is fantastic, imo.

I forgave them years ago for the scandal stuff. I think because of the scandal and all of the scrutiny they are safest site to put your money on.

i think this ^ is pretty accurate, i read a lengthy article about the whole ordeal and after it was all exposed the people that took over actually developed some of the best anti-cheating technology to date to make up for it.

I think the main problem with the online poker community is that AP/UB/Cereus never made any effort to prosecute the employees that were involved in the scandal.

It's going bad for me at $.10/$.25 at AP....$763 right now, down from $886. Well 5 buyin downswings are pretty standard I guess.

I am "2HOLDOR2FOL" on AP, I used to have the 'D' on the end of my name, I don't know wtf happened to it.

I thought that was because they cut a deal with the employees to find out how they did it. Pretty standard, otherwise they'd be in the same shit a week later when the ex-employees recruit an active employee.

Oh ok.

Wow I really hurt my BR multitabling 10 tables....Down to like $691, now I can admit to myself that I can't profitably multitable 10 25NL tables and I will just stick with 4 tables here on out, goddamnit.

Absolute Poker is really scoring mega points with me right now, they let me change my user ID. I am "SIRSPEWSALOT" at the AP $.10/$.25 25NL tables if anybody sees me around there, say hi. I harassed AP about a name change with like 6 e-mails and they finally told me they would let me change my user ID for "one time only", which is sweet, because poker sites never let people change their usernames. God AP is a bunch of cool motherfuckers.

Also they have a LiveHelp chat available 24 hours a day. I used 1600 Absolute Points to order a hat from their store today, I ordered the navy-blue hat instead of the black one, so I talked to the LiveHelp chat person and they fixed it for me immediately. This is a fantastic poker site, imo.
