Fruits mature when they want its genetics. Use Gypsum next time it helps with bigger fruits

How deep is your substrate? That plays a large factor in size.

Don't expect big fruits from cakes. It just doesn't happen (rarely).

one table spoon of gypsum per 5 jars will really make that much of a difference? Where can gypsum be bought?

Not true I got these off cake
Just get some ordinary dry wall smash it up then powderize it. or you have get it from nurseries. I really find that gypsum makes a difference

Right. I didn't think those were big. Most look to be around 2-3 inches unless you've got some monster plates there.

First dinner plate it just over 11 inches square it is a big plate the round one is in the sink with other dishes on top of it so I have no idea how big it is.
Theres a few monsters ( for cakes that is) I find every flush at least give a few big guys

In general, cakes will always give smaller shrooms than bulk. You're right though, they do pump out larger ones sometimes.
To the OP, fruit size does not really matter, but if you want consistently larger shrooms, you'll need to move to bulk.
Drywall is gypsum.

Yep I did. in dry wall is gypsum which is calcium sulfate which is very beneficial to mushroom development.
I smash it up in a bag with a hammer then peel most the paper off it then coffee grind it.

I don't have a coffee grinder, what else could I use to ground it up? Have you done a side by side comparison of gypsum vs no gypsum?

hammer. I haven't noticed a difference using it or not. same for coffee. just grain and hpoo, or grain and coir, seems to work great.
