my thoughts are voting is purely symbolic and that the hilarious notion of a capitalistic democratic republic is really quite a laugh. we live in a fascist dictatorship/oligarchy/corporatocracy

What is voting symbolic of? And do you know the definition of fascism? No one ever claimed we were purely capitalist.

symbolic of the concept that the people shape policy through elected officials - instead of the reality which is the shaping of policy through career politicians, lobbyists, and etc.

fascism also has no singular definition, but in my application, it's the merger of state and corporate powers (buying up GM, kinda like hitler/volkswagen)
no one claimed it was 100% capitalism but many sure do believe that's primarily how it operates - and it's just not the case

A single vote in the US electoral system? Nope. Things requiring voting can get done under various models but that is a different question.

Votes are didgital and now a complete fraud.
Votes no longer matter till we get paper ballots. Even then a fair vote is hard to come by.
Digital votes are 100x more easy to hack and fraud and corruption.
Paper votes are still forged and corrupt but not as much as digital votes.
Is that hard to understand?
What is the point of voting if all data is earased and fraud data is put in.

So it is what material one votes with that determines whether or not a vote counts?

I don't believe that voting really does shit. The game is rigged, and i don't mean they just pad the votes. They pad the whole fucking game.

A vote in New York counts less than a vote in North Dakota or Wyoming, at least in US Senatorial races.
Though it seems the votes of a few Alaskans counted enough to change the history of American crazy monotheism.
Besides, when you convince everyone there is no game to play, you have no opponent to rig the game against in the first place.

By that logic, why the fuck get out of bed in the morning. You're gonna get fucked at some point, in a way you don't like.
It's not about voting, it's about maintaining legitimate discourse between those that educate themselves and others and attempt to honestly apply available memes to the dynamic system that is our society.
Besides, people who don't know shit about anything political are going to vote their god or favorite band anyway, even if the votes ARE reported accurately, it still doesn't count. It's outweighed by the intellectually lazy, bigoted, challenged, and faithful majority of Americans who belong to at least one of the above categories when it comes to spectator politics.
Real politics has little to do with voting, unless it is local. If you get past local, you probably already started a discourse, and THAT'S the point. Unless you're looking for money or find contention within the status quo.
Also, it gives the less-engaged seniors the day to get out and feel powerful.
