lib hunt throws up a question
    #11411210 - 11/08/09 01:17 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

I found these whilst out hunting libs in yorkshire, england. The stems had that green vein running through and it can be seen in the caps of some. The smaller one had the green in the cap only. i believe this is a sign of activity.. am hopeful!!!

Found in the same habitat as many libs this morning.

Any ideas ??????

It's probably one of the blue/green Stropharias.

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

These are Stropharia. They aren't an active species despite the blue colouring.

Yeah, Stropharia cyanea or pseudocyanea I'd say.

Trusted Identifier.

It's an inside joke.  Some members without tags are better than some with them.

And no, what you have might not be active.  Paul Stamets says it might be mildly active though.

Few mushrooms are as active as Libs.  If I were in the mood I would try them to see how active or not they are.
