Looking for the correct definition. I've always thought it was someone who posted false information/stories in order to get a reaction out of someone, but other people claim it's someone who causes extensive argument/disruption.
Here are the urbandictionary definitions, IMO these people are just trolling by my terms. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=troll

Generally, they hide under bridges and make people pay to use the bridge, or so I've always been taught.
I got banned from the Pub for trolling, and I still can't understand why.

Wiki has a decent definition: In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

If people weren't so susceptible to butthurt, then trolls would have no power.
As it is, butthurt is rampant among online posters, and so trolls only grow more powerful with each person that expresses a negative emotional response upon provocation.
Upon my return to the Pub for example, I will be one of the most powerful trolls ever known. My repeated bans for racism, and this most recent 18 day ban have only made my power strengthen and grow immeasurably.
