LED Rope Lights: Pure White (6500K) vs Cool White (7500K)

I'm in the market for LED rope lights and I've come across an option. I can buy 18ft of either "Pure White" lights which are listed as 6000 - 6500K, and "Cool White" lights listed at color temp 7300 - 7800K (...get that fuckin witch outta my face...). Has anyone compared the two? Do we prefer 6500K because it most closely resembles natural daylight or could an even bluer light like 7500K be better?

Yeah, I know that's what a lot of people are going to say but I'm wondering if this has ever been tested by the pro's.

RR gives the opinion that >=5000K is good. I was skeptical that anything beyond normal CFLs would make a difference, but he said studies have been done which he was involved with and I tend to believe him. Based on this, either should be fine.

Thanks for that link. He says the right range is 5000-7000K, so the "pure white" is the one I'll go with. I guess I was just wondering how much testing has really been done.

When I ran my tests, growth, weight, and pinning performance all peaked at around 6500K. On either side of that, the curve was small, so anything from about 5000K to 7500K is going to work pretty good. It's even better if your LED or fluorescent lamps can get some supplemental light from a bright window. RR

Definitely cool, I'll have to keep this in mind when I'm fruiting next time.
