Casing Containers?
    #1134728 - 12/12/02 06:57 AM (21 years, 3 months ago)

Should casing containers be metal or plastic? I know that metal is not a good fomite so would it be better to use metal for contamination reasons?

Plastic works better, easier to clean and no corrosion.

It's decided then...Anyone using metal shall rust and die of poisonings unknown...

I just use aluminum pans. They corode and get nasty (not to the point that they become unusable) so when a casing is spent I just throw the whole thing out. Saves me the work of cleaning them. Plus they are damn cheap.

I use a large, and oddly steel, baking pan. Doesn't corrode.

All hail sterlite, rubbermaid, and all other petroleum isomer containers. They are reusable, so you don't have to be excessively wasteful....i'm just sayin' is all....

yep, aluminum pans work great. I use the loaf pans with the plastic dome lids. Considering aluminum is recyclable, it's not that wasteful.
