How to tell if penis envy (uncut) fruits have spores in them?

I just harvested my first batch of mushies ever 8-D. It was however, not smart that I chose penis envy uncut as my first strain to work with. I have no experience working with sporeprints, either. So my question.
How can I tell if my penis envy fruits have spores contained in their gills? When I look at their gills, they look completely clean. Is that how it is supposed to be? Now I have them covered and in a sterile area, and I have aluminum foil and cotton swabs also ready too. If I swab the area, I remember that the bruising sticks to the swab! So the spores a purple colored too?
I remember reading a PE irragation or cotton swabbing tek somewhere, does anyone have a link to that?

id just sterile a swab in foil for 20 min @ 15psi then let cool. take to your glovebox/flowhood/shmuvbox and do a swab. and place back into sterile foil.

ahhh if only I used the search engine. I suppose that I will actually be able to see a slight dusting of spores.

If the veils are open, cut the caps and print them normally. I wouldn't recommend swabs unless you plan on working with agar.

Check out these two photos of PE .... the gills are dark with spores .... and you can see the cap is starting to drop spores on the stem (dusting of purple on the stem right under the cap).
Many of the PE fruits will not have spores .... but when you see dark gills and some purple spore deposits on the stems (maybe 1/10 of the fruits on some flushes), then you can get a print the 'traditional' way (cap placed on tin foil).
PE caps like these are 'few' and 'far between' (for me).
So ..... look for them ... and Good Luck.
edit: I see that the link you found referred to these fruits. I type slow.

^^ *edit thanks for the photos anyways
I don't think I see any dusty caps so far.. but I need to go to bed right now.
Anyways, one last question.
If they actually have spores, and I picked the fruits a little early ( I may have or may not have because the caps started to turn bluish ), will they drop whatever spores they may have after they are picked?
And fruits are mature when their caps start bruising right? I also heard that they develop bulges too ( some can be seen in my photo) when they are mature.

Judging when PE is ready to harvest can be difficult. I let mine go until the fruits are very mature .... they are bigger and if there is a chance for spores, you will be able to see the spores more easily.
I grew PE a couple times before I noticed any spore production. Maybe I wasn't observant enough ... or maybe there were no spores .....
Look closely.
Good Luck.
edit: stems gnarly and bulging below the caps is a good way to judge maturity .... and yes, bruising and 'blotchy' looking caps also point to old, mature fruits.
