Just Installed Windows 7
    #11302651 - 10/22/09 08:55 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Student price for Windows 7 Professional 64-bit: $29.99 and hour download.

Finding out the "upgrade" 64-bit version I downloaded is the full version: priceless.

Finding out how to crack the files to create a .iso for future use: even more priceless.

:yesnod:

When you click the link in the email, there's this little checkmark box asking about your college's domain service and if you'd like to be able to connect to it.  You have to check that and it opens up the Professional edition option.

I know, sketchy as hell!

So it is the full version?  I only run Linux at the moment, so I can install this and it won't give me shit?  What kind of file does it give you if not a .iso  I definitely would want to make a backup of this

Follow this to a "T".  It's simple as hell and works perfectly.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/30470-make-bootable-iso-student-d-l.html

There's still some debate on the full version, but during installing it never asked me anything about proving an existing installation.  Unless of course it checked without me knowing it was checking and saw either my Windows 7 Release Candidate installed or my XP partition.

Oh and it downloads 3 files to your desktop...NOT an iso.  Which is kind of baffling as to why not.

Hm that might be hard to pull off on this linux computer.  I might have to download it on a windows machine, get it as a .iso, burn it, then install it to this computer.  Though Ill need to see if it is indeed the full version

Yeah there are all kinds of deals for Windows 7 for students and employees. My dad somehow is getting the new version of Office and Windows 7 for $15. Nuts.

I will be "borrowing" his copy of Windows 7.
