Clear mushroom
    #11244735 - 10/14/09 09:09 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
All of these mushrooms grow on my new property. Western PA. I have never seen any other mushrooms in my life other than white ones on the lawn. Fopr that matter I have never been scouting for mushrooms and fungus. I have always lived by the ocean in Ca. This is my first post so I will do my best. I really like all of the pictures I have taken. My new property has 5 acres of field and 10 acres of forest.

Growing in grassy area near recently dead large white oak. Lasted only one day.
Gills: Everything was so clear I could not gather spore print.

Stem:3 inch stem and caps was 1.5 inch
Wish I could add the picture but I have been doing this for an hour and the site wont accept jpg images and I must figure out how to change that. It is the image in my avatar in question. Someone pm me please if you have som image suggestions to make this easier.

why dont u help him out instead of criticizing him, hes obviously new.

you can see the pictures in his gallery anyways, they are a Coprinoid, not active and not edible, once used as an ink replacement though.

I will get the format correct soon. I had some blewit mushrooms sauted and thrown in some chicken soup I also made. Prety good! Just a little to see if I have an alergy first as I have read here. Thanks for the Id so quickley. They looked like jellyfish I have seen when sport diving.  Coprinopsis lagopus

I dont think they are coprinopsis, they might be a Parasola sp
when picking blewitts, just make sure the spore print is white, u wouldnt want to pick a toxic Cortinarius iodes or something.

I don't think any of the purple Corts are toxic.

The reason I think that is many of them look just like blewits in some stages of development, and there has never been a report of a purple Cort poisoning in the NAMA 30+ year case history of mushroom poisonings.

Yeah Coprinoid or parasola.

It's what they do when they get old.  Then they melt away.

Yes I did for sure do a spore print. I would show you guys but the picture thing, I am not the best at figuring picture format changing. I was 100% on the blewits and bolletus mushrooms I have eaten. Wish I could post more to have you guys help me. I have what I believe to be at least 40+ different species I have taken pictures of in the past 3 weeks. Alot of LBM's I am trying to identify. I found 4new kinds since my first post. I will start to load my pictures here for all to see. This is more help already than anywhere I have found in identifying.
