Is religion for the weak?
    #11236788 - 10/12/09 10:55 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

I was going to post this earlier, but wasn't near a computer.

Do you guys think religion is for weak minded people, who resort to believing that a 'higher power' is in control, and that god will 'take care for us'?

Not everyone thinks the same way. What seems illogical to one person may seem very logical to another. Doesn't make them weak though.

it's good for bringing communities together and stuff and reminding ppl to have values, but if you think it is anything more than that you are weak minded.

I'd like to know why so many atheists, like you, insist on shitting on religious folk - some of whom happen to be decent people - because you disagree with their choices.
Some people want something to believe in. Some people NEED something to believe in.

You're no better than extremist religious men who push their faith on others.

i don't mean to effend ppl, I think religions can be good until ppl take them to far and start thinking they have all the answers in life and that their religion is right and somehow superior to other's, that's not ok no matter how you look at it.

i grew up in a catholic family and attended catholic high school. My own personal philosophies are based off my own experiences and insights.

I personally feel that religion is a comfort for most people, and if it helps them remember to be better people, then it can't be all that bad.

not religion, itself.
just the all of the ridiculous sub-religions as christianity, mass followed religions.
whatever your outlook on life is, is your religion.

agnostic is a religion, and the followers do not believe in higher power, but they are still religious.

everybody has one, everybody cant be weak.

it really depends on how you look at it.

organized religion is ridiculous and possibly for the weak minded
but personal religious beliefs aren't a sign of weakness at all.
