Mushroom ID, once again.
    #11116227 - 09/23/09 10:56 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
Coniferous forest, growing on moss, woody debris and often directly on fallen Hemlocks

Gills:
Not attached, no visible veil, ranging from white to dark smokey brown

Stem:
one to four inches long, off white, with white fuzz bruises quickly to dark brown, that a desperate hunter could say was somewhat blue

Cap:
On average one inch in diameter.  bright yellowish brown when fresh, and within hours after picking develops a light yellow spot in center, and after a few hours the edges darken to a shade that I would say was bluish.

Spore print color:
Brownish purple, definitely more brown, but with an obvious purple hue to it.

Bruising:
Stem readily bruises very dark brown, darker at base, cap bruises brownish blue around edges.

Other information:
No scent, doesn't seem to grow under Red Cedars, very sturdy, eye catching mushroom, not one I am familiar with and if I had to guess a type of species, definitely panaeolous or psilocybe, if not closely related.  Help me out guys!

I found a bunch of those a few days ago. Feels like jello and prints were orange, but I can't remember what they were. Here is a pic of the ones I found.

how were your mushrooms "those" (referring to his mushrooms) if his mushrooms are printing a color different than yours did?

I think the OP's mushrooms are probably Psathyrella sp as well.

Ahhhh.. Thanks guys perhaps it is then.  I really thought it had a chance of being paneaolous.    I will keep searching these forests...  You'd think the Tongass would have a ton!

I think Pan's are more often in horse/sheep manure than in a forest.

I want to say those are psilocybe.  But I wouldn't know what species.  Possibly pelliculosa?  This is not an ID, just an observation.
