The mind itself, or the mind's perspective? Preference maybe?

All things are defined from perspective. Objective things vary the least from perspective.

The ego is not the sense of self, it is arrogance.

By self I mean the false separation between 'I' and 'not I'. That could be seen as a type of arrogance.

There is no separation, one must however know where their body ends, and 100% influence decreases.

I agree, there is no separation. So how would one go about finding where 'their body ends' if there is no separation?

Mind's perspective is closer to the truth I think. On the Buddhist path for example one must have "right view". One probably needs a mind to have right view! Mind is not a problem. Basically the big problems which prevent us from living conscious, compassionate lives seem to me to be negative actions, habitual action without mindfulness, craving (especially sensory pleasure, but also fame, immortality, enlightenment, and other things), inertia and laziness, negative thinking, hatefulness and anger.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

not necessarily the mind by itself, but your identification with it (which is an attribute of the mind itself!)
this is why only Self contemplation leads to permanent awakening
what really is the True nature of 'I'?
this question is more than enough but people want philsosophy, teachings, practices, exercises... all these retain the ego...
anything the ego does, will become undone anything the ego puts together, will fall apart
can awakening be done & undone? or put together & fall apart?
it is only awakening to What Is

Ego, arrogance, unwillingness to admit to your shortcomings and carefully review them.
