Kratom is a tropical plant, Texas is well, not. The seeds can be difficult to germinate sometimes too I think.

For 10 bucks might as well try, that isn't terribly bad for so many.
Although as PA said, I've heard germ rates CAN be poor.
Who knows, give 'em a try!

Germinate them in high humidity in coir pellets if you can, those always worked for me.

I've grown them from seed, had really good germ rates. The seeds are tiny slivers. Sprinkle seeds on the top of normal potting soil in a pot, mist well, and put plastic wrap over the top to keep up humidity. They take a long time to get past seedling-stage, from 50-60 seedlings only one ended up making it. No full sun for seedlings and slowly ween them off the high humidity! The extreme summer here is hard on kratom, part sun part shade and watered well they do ok though. They like constantly moist soil best. Seedlings should not be subjected to any cold, my plant (beyond seedling-stage) was kept in a cold garage during freezes along with a Rifat, they both exfoliated towards the end of winter but came back fine in spring. I suspect that they may survive year-round in ground where I am if protected from freezes while young, your location is most likely a little warmer than mine although the time for things like that is still way off.

The last two batches of kratom seeds i got were duds. Not a single sprout. Good luck with yours.

thanks for the advice. i'm gonna try to sprout these inside and use fluros as i don't want them to fuck up.
yes living in texas can be a bitch when you want to grow a nice tropical plant. the only thing that grows is... well cactus. my lophs love the weather and thats my bread and butter right now. including trichs. but i just am now starting to take real interest in entheogens and have been want ing kratom for a long time. once i get them i do what drift recommends. PEAT PELLOTS. those suckers really hold moisture.
the vendor off ebay claerly states that the lot is for 50 seeds as they have low germ rates. so it figures it would be so many.

They can take very long amounts of time to germinate. I had one seed germinate almost an entire month after others had.
I live in texas and I germinated mine outside in full sun. I had 3 out of 15 germinate, unfortunately they all died from various reason.
They take a very long time to grow, so you need to have a lot of patience. You can acclimate them to Texas weather slowly.

So my kratom seeds from the same completely unnamed source as Ferrel came in the post today. I have them in a propagator on the surface of a potting soil/perlite mix with an additional lamp on a timer to give an extra 6 hrs of light per day. I have also a few (like 10) in tuppaware on a wet piece of tissue in my airing cupboard as this is how I generally germinate all my seeds with a fair degree of success.

got my seeds today. i put them in 4 equal size pots. i never knew kratom seeds were so small. i didn't even seperate the seeds. i just sprinkled them on top on each pot.
how many days/weeks before we see any sign of life? there was ants in the soil. do you think they will steal the seeds? i hope not because i really want a kratom plant.

Don't directly water them. Just mist/light spray them. Keep the soil at least somewhat moist and I would start them in full sunlight if you intend to grow it outdoors. I'd say give it 3 weeks.

well i just wet the soil and sprinlked them on top. i put them outside in the shade. i covered the pots with plastic bags to keep good humidity. i've heard they like that.

Humidity is good but not entirely necessary. I just sprayed them well at least 3 times a day, and they started popping up after a few weeks. Just have patience.
