What do you think will happen to the illegal pot dealers if pot was legalized in the US in 2010?

Straight up "on the corner" type dealers would go out of business. Growers and dealers would probably set up small grow cottage industries.

Why is it a good idea to arrest marijuana users who don't have cards?

You seem to be OK with people using medical marijuana recreationally, what's the difference if they have club cards or not?

The "way it is" is neither sustainable nor just. Nobody should have to pay to see a doctor and feign an illness just to enjoy some herb.

IMO the vast majority would go out of business.
Like any other type of legal business, the MJ industry would turn corporate. The larger companies would mass produce MJ cheaper, and be able to market it better than an "average" person.

My guess is it will be business as usual since I don't think it will happen next year. I like to be proven wrong though.

I would pay $10 extra on every bag to not have to deal with a dealer.

Nobody gets arrested around here for pot unless they are dealing. Most people don't get screwed over too bad for playing the game they chose. I do know a few cases where the sentencing was ridiculous though. Im all down for decriminalization.
I just dont want to see pot go corporate.
id like it to be decriminalized.
That would mean more competition, lower prices for everyone.
Cannabis out of the hands of big companies that taint tobacco.

Sorry to not answer your question, but: what would happen to people that are serving time for pot related charges?

They'll be released, and there'll be a huge weed-smoking celebration/party.

This. Hopefully they don't start adding unhealthy additives to the marijuana like they do with tobacco.

Yeah..they wouldn't be released until they served their time since their crimes would have occurred prior to legalization. As far as what would happen to the dealers; supply would go up and demand would go down. It would then become an over-saturated "buyer's market", where dealers would have to undercut their competition to even continue. All that aside, people like to do business w/their friends, so I'm sure many would continue to deal it would just be less profitable.
