Speaker crackle! Am I fucked?

I've had these speakers (Logitech Z 2300s) for almost 2 years now, and they've worked great, but all of a sudden they've got a crackle. My best guess is that they got blown out a lil', but that's just a guess. What I do know is that they're crackling, and it's not a problem with the contacts or my PC.
So ... am I fucked? Is there anything I can do except for buying new speakers? I can't live with this crackling, but I can't afford a new sound system either.

i get the same problem where my speakers crackle or sometimes completely stop to work.
the trick is to jiggle all the wires and input plugs until you get it at the exact perfect position that it stops. its tricky sometimes, but for example sometimes i have to put a book over one of my wires holding it in a certain position

often times it's dirty contacts, if it happens mostly when you adjust the volume, I'm willing to bet that's where the problem lies

It's a constant but relatively infrequent soft popping/cracking. Every 5-10 seconds I get a few clicks/pops. Prior to posting this, I checked all the contacts, and since reading your replies I've checked again -- and I'm going to stick with my original statement: I don't think this is a contact issue. Maybe my computer itself is fucked up, maybe it's something in the speaker system, I dunno, but I don't think it's as simple as just a plug being dirty.
(People, I am not retarded: I ain't gonna make a thread about speaker clicks without checking the obvious beforehand.)

not all the contacts are outside, if it's the volume knob it can be constant, it can increase/decrease in frequency when adjusting the volume

The static is from the wire. Get a new wire et viola, problem solved.

Now it seems to have stopped, without my doing anything whatsoever. Not even changing the volume. I stopped listening to music, watched a couple youtube videos, and went back to listening to music ... and now my speakers are working fine.
I'm happy they're working again but these kinds of problems drive me fucking insane.
