Since there was no bruising it possible that it is Panaeolus antillarum which is inactive and is often mistaken for Cyans.

Cyans grow on woodchips, and sometimes grass high in woody stuff underneath; not poo poo.

Im pretty sure he meant Panaeolus Cyanescens - "Panaeolus cyanescens is a coprophiliac (dung-inhabiting) species"

You are probably referring to Psilocybe Cyanescens.

I apologize, when I see the word "cyan" I immediatly get starry-eyed thinking of my wonderful wavy capped psilocybe..... Even when reading a box of crayons.

I got a little spacey.....

keep looking because the active Pans will grow in basically the same habitat.

i'v never had the pleasure of hunting for or eating Ps. Cyans, but i'v had my fair share of the Pans.  Does anyone (w/ experience) know which one would be considered more potent by weight.?

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

More potent than Psilocybe cyanescens. I am aware that potency may vary from specimen to specimen and that the difference isn't huge as it were, but nevertheless, in general Panaeolus cyanescens is slightly more potent.

Psilocybe cyanescens
Psilocybin approx. 6mg/g (of dried matter)
Psilocin approx. 2.3mg/g

Panaeolus cyanescens
Psilocybin approx. 4.8 mg/g
Psilocin approx. 4.5mg/g
