I've seen even the lousiest Pc's last for a bit, it depends sometimes on if the rubber seal was any good as that will be the thing to screw you up. How long were you planning on waiting before you upgrade? If it is long enough I would go get another rubber ring thing to replace the one on it when it starting leaking or something.

I was gonna look for an all american or something but ya they do sell extra rubber rings that's a good idea! Since a PC is so important when using grain i'll be needing it alot. There are some thrift stores, yard sales etc figured I would just keep an eye out ... the older the berry the sweeter the juice right?

That will be fine while you are doing pf cakes, but when you want to move up to grains and quart jars, you will need a much bigger PC.

You'll be able to fit like one maybe two quarts in there at a time. This is not ideal and you will spend so much time PC'ing.
You paid almost $40.00 for this PC. Take it back, get your money back(Either now or after you 'try it out'), and spend another $20-40 and grab a 20+ quart PC. You can find them online easily.

They sell that shitty presto at Walmart, but they sell the 20qt one at Farm & Fleet for ~$120.
I think you can fit two quarts in that laying down, which doesn't really work after you fill it up with enough water for the cycle. It is only good for doing BRF pints, and iirc only about 5-6 at a time.
It doesn't support quart jars and therefore grain, so you can't really do bulk I suppose you could PC rye spawn bags one at a time but that would be so aggravating

I have the same one in the 8 quart size (10 lbs, yes?). I have yet to have a single contam and I've done over a dozen half pints and a bunch of pints (both grains and BRF). There's no leaking, it cleans nicely, and I have no doubt it'll hold up until I can afford an AA. Good luck!
