possible gym or not

It resembles a gym, but then again it resembles other species.. No blue brusing... so not active.
IT has red flakes on the cap.

Depends on where they're picked. In the East I'd call them G. spectabilis (active). But if he picked these in Alberta they could be G. ventricosus (non-active).

It does resemble ones that have been found in upstate NY but I am going off memory. There should be some amount of bruising though correct?

sometimes only the pins bruise green-blue on active specimens

im in the east,northeast to be more exact been findin subbs and i think with all the knowledge from this site,i will find gyms(gymnopilus spectabilus)....ill take some natural pics when i find them.it will be fall soon and afer the rains i will find them.wish me luck :thumbup:
