It looks like that casing is too dry, and where the hell is that lone shroom growing from, is it growing through the casing container?

You should let the fluffy myceluim cover the entire surface before you intitiate pinning. Whats with that one coming out from the right side? is it growing out of the perlite? or do have a hole in the casing?

That looks awfully dry . If you initiated pinning , you are way premature , more myc should be present .
Moisture is a must !
Good Luck

It looks dry, and although you don't have to let the entire casing layer colonize, it looks like you birthed them too early. The problem with a casing drying out is its not too easy to rehydrate it. If I were you, what I would do is deep scratch the bitch, mist like a mother fucker, then scratch it again, and put back into incubator till it is colonized more. This will be a huge chance for contamination, but it doesn't look like you'll be losing much.

That shroom is growing from one the cakes. Are you saying you have cakes underneath that casing tray?

Yes, you are correct, I am using a couple of my cakes to keep the trays up as to raise the humidity.

Oh, I get it. You're exposing more perlite surface to get more humidity. Why the hell are you using cakes to raise the trays?
