I did shrooms with my friends- technically sclerocia, or the truffle of the shroom, since they can be sold legally in The Netherlands- but it's the same ingredient, same effect. The specie was Psylocybe Atlantis, the strongest this smart shop sold.
A typical dose is 10-15g. I took 15, maybe 10 grams at first and the rest a couple hours later. A friend took 15 at once and another friend took 10 at once. They both tripped pretty hard but I hardly felt anything. Colors were a little more vivid I guess, but there wasn't much to it. I know other people who've gotten the same shrooms from the same place and have said they're strong.
The really weird thing is that my friend who just took 10 grams is a pretty big guy, and I'm very skinny. He was going off about colors and shapes and said it was a very strong experience, and I didn't have any of that. Any suggestions? Should I just give it another shot and eat the full 15 at once or do some people not react well to shrooms?

wait a week and take your dose and powder it and soak it in lemon juice or orange juice

was this your first time? My first time I took 2 grams fresh(Cubes) and didn't feel a thing, but my second time with 3 grams worked and was strong. Same thing happened to me with weed. Just try again and it should work. Good Luck..

do you take any perscription meds? kinda a personal question.. if ya dont want to answer google them. some reduce trip strength.
I have found that taking seroquel (50-100mg for sleep the night before) magnifies the trip the next day. a friend of mine takes some cocktail of meds and cant trip at all (unsure what all he takes but its a bunch)

you didn't mention how much you weigh. Heavier people need more to get the same effect.
and it's also best to just eat your whole dose in the beginning. If you wait a couples hours and eat more the effects won't be as strong.

Some times that's just the luck of the draw. I have a batch of shrooms here.
Few weeks ago, I was intending on taking a tiny amount to go see a movie - by time I arrived at the theater I was so high I said "screw this, I want to go for a hike instead" and went for a 4hr hike. Think it was maybe 2g tops - didn't do much at all.
Must say, I enjoyed the hike a great deal 
Few weeks later, figuring this was a strong batch - I did 3.5g while at home, and they barely did a thing.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll try the juice thing sometime. I did it again yesterday, same 15 gram dose but all at once. It was definitely stronger than last time but not as strong as I hoped... not really any visual effects but I was sitting in my room thinking about how the universe worked and everything made perfect sense and it was like I'd broken out of some old way of thinking and was now enlightened. I feel like it should have been stronger. Maybe I should just up the dose next time but then it's getting expensive...
Yeah I only weigh about 135 lb, tall and skinny, I thought I would need a smaller dose than most people, but I seem more resistant to it than anyone I know, even guys a lot bigger than me.

Ive taken lemon shots and it took over an hour to come up and the trip wasnt that intense.. IDK maybe it was the mush
