Just how "Political" is this forum? And do members behave in a civil manner here?
I ask because i was banned from a forum many years ago because of my opinions... that was a lesson: you either allow civil discourse or you don't. Note well that i said "civil discourse".
How are things here? Are people holding unpopular opinions shouted down or ignored... it makes a difference.
Meanwhile, i'll be browsing.
Thank you for your consideration...
Jack

If you like lots of different views its a great political forum. the mods try to keep it civil but its not easy. (TRUTH HURTS)

Everyone here is hated equally. Some more equally than others.

don't call anybody stupid for being stupid. and don't curse at them when they need cursing at. that'll get you booted from the board for a day or two.
but voice your opinions openly (as long as they won't hurt someone else's feelings via a personal attack).
lots of various views here. learn to get enjoyment from them, but plz don't be another dim-wit that can't click a link to learn something for yourself

> Just how "Political" is this forum?
Fairly. We get off topic from time to time...
> And do members behave in a civil manner here?
Mostly. The forum is mostly populated by liberals that feel the conservatives are given too much leniency. The mods are mostly conservative, but do a decent job keeping neutral (the liberals tend to disagree with this; it is a difficult job to moderate fairly). I mostly leave it up to the mods to do their job and try not to wield authority. For the most part, as long as you don't flame, and you don't post video or articles without adding some comments, you will be fine.
Wow, I think that is a record for using some form of the word "most" in a post. Time to break out a thesaurus.
In a nutshell, you will not be banned from stating an opinion as long as you are not flaming, baiting, or trolling. The closer you get to breaking the rules, the less protection you receive in return. (Zappa is a good example of this; he can walk the line without crossing over, yet he takes a fair share of abuse in return.)
> Are people holding unpopular opinions shouted down or ignored... it makes a difference.
Ignored, perhaps, but shouted down, absolutely not. I disagree with the opinions of many of the people posting here, but I will protect their right to be heard. Read the forum rules; there are only three of them (in the sticky at the top of the forum index). In my mind, differing opinion are a blessing, not a curse. The quickest way to get on my @#$! list is to tell people what they can or cannot say, think, or do.

Savage is a satire of the right, an obnoxious, reactionary blowhard. I dislike anyone on the left or right who behaves like he does, without an ounce of class.
