Vector marketing...questions for those who have worked there

I have my training tommorow and ive been doing alot of research online, and many many people call this a scam
Well i called the place i have my training at and i dont have to pay for the knife kit (which is alot of peoples beef) so i figured fuck it ima give it a whirl. I know alot of people who will at least let me do the appt even if they have no plans of buying anything
My question is to any who works there...what are the requirements to get paid for an appointment.
Im just thinking i may go to these people and just have them sign the sheet or w/e and say fuck the actual speech.

I would stay away if you are not a ruthless salesman. I used to work for RainSoft as a sales representative and wasted 5 weeks doing free training and running leads, spending money on gas, and ended up making no money whatsoever because I didn't sell any of their products.

terrible idea.
-------------------- "There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand." wow so i guess no one read my post?
I have NO intent of selling SHIT.
I just want to "make appointments" with friends and family to get the base pay
I have no desire to rip my family and friends off, i just want to make the money for "meeting" with them

The way they pay is for every demonstration you give. If you have alot of demo's without any sales, the manager will most likely contact them to make sure you actually did go to their house.
So i could still get paid even if i never sell a thing? Thats all im trying to do. This company sounds like they are crooks and scum so i have no problem just getting my cash and quitting.
Trust me i do not intend to treat this like a real job. I just know alot of people that would be willing to let me use them to get the 15$ base pay.

yes I'm sure you will get paid.
Be prepared to face a disgruntled manager when you show him your appts without orders. The base pay comes out of his paycheck.

Hehehehe well thats good to know
Yea these people arent going to like me at all
Did you fill out a w-2 or an idependent contractors form...because from what im reading on the IRS website we are employees (which means we should fill out a w-2 and they withold taxes and what not so you dont get screwed at the end of the year on taxes) but they are hiring us as subcontractors which absolutely screws the employee on taxes...im bringing in IRS forms and everything to prove that we are employees, we should get paid for training, and that they should with hold taxes and whatnot. And i am going to ask them first thing when i go in for my training whether i fill out a w-2 or the other thing.
Second question i am asking at my training is why they have been brought to court in 3 other states (one being Wisconsin and i live in IL) and plead guilty to fraud charges. Im interested to hear their response to that one.
Anything else that anyone thinks i should bring up feel free to let me know and i will gladly bring it up tommorow.

This company and all who are like them should be illegal, and their evil CEOs beheaded in the village square. They take advantage of people (usually young) who need a job and are desperate enough to believe their bullshit and lose money.
This is not a job. You are their customer. Got it?
I had an interview with them once years ago. Just showed up in jeans and a t-shirt and the woman asked if I could come back wearing a suit. I said sure, and never came back. If they wanted me wearing a suit they should have said so. I don't like people who waste my time.
Here's how it works (according to a friend at the time): you buy the knife kit (or whatever it is). You sell to your family and friends. Your friends get pissed off at you for trying to sell them shitty knives (or whatever) they neither want nor need. Your family maybe buys one out of pity for you. You realize the scam. But you're out whatever you paid, and they made money. On to the next victim.
It is as simple as that.
They may have told you over the phone that you won't have to pay for the knife kit. They are lying to you. They just want you to go so they can work their evil magic on you. They will not release product to you unless you pay for it, and you can't sell without product. Legally speaking, their business model involves you taking all of the business risk as a salesperson. Practically speaking, their business model involves you getting fucked over royally.
As a general rule, avoid any "job" offers with come-ons like "why would you want to work for someone else when you can work for yourself?" or "make unlimited income by being in business for yourself!". They are all scams. It isn't a bad idea to be in business for yourself, but true independence isn't easy and you don't get it by answering an ad in the newsapaper.
These MLM's are probably doing really well in this recession, with so many desperate people to prey on. Fuck them.
