Sydney, NSW, ID Request
    #10438276 - 06/01/09 10:14 PM (14 years, 9 months ago)

Species #1

Location: Found in the North Shore of Sydney NSW. They were growing in a patch of woodchip and leaves.

The gills were whitish.

Cap was brown.

Stem was white.

Seemed to bruise blue.

Subs?

Species #2

Location: Found in the North Shore of Sydney NSW. They were growing on the base of a tree.

The gills were creamish.

Cap was light brown.

Stem was brown.

I know they're not subs, but I was just curious if anyone had any idea what they might be?

Species #3

Location: Found in the North Shore of Sydney NSW. It growing in the exact same patch of woodchip and leaves as I found species #1. It was just a couple of metres away.

The gills were whitish/creamish.

The cap was brown, but a stronger, brighter brown. Perhaps even slightly orange?

The stem was an orangish colour too with some white.

I'm guessing it isn't a sub, but I did find it extremely close to what I suspect to be subs, so any idea what it could possibly be?

Looks like Stropharia Auriantiaca. I always find them in woodchips, subs usually aren't far away

Funny you should say that cos the reason I asked is because I found a huge patch of them (about 50 full grown) very near a decent sized patch of subs.
