SE Florida ID, please! clear pictures
    #10409580 - 05/27/09 07:14 PM (14 years, 9 months ago)

Habitat:
We found these on the Southeast Florida area, growing on some cow pasture surroundings.  Its been raining a lot for the past few days and they were growing on moist soil and grass.  We found a batch of around 8.  Diameter ranges between 2-4 in.

Gills:
The pores were mustard colored when we first found them but started turning a darker color once we picked them.  Its brownish but looks almost faintly blue in some areas.

Stem:
Stems are thick and solid- a light yellow color with faint reddish hints like the color of the caps.

That's a nice pile of Boletes you got there!  Not active.  It's cool as shit how they blue so fast when you pinch em though isn't it?  Used to find these all the time in Georgia in the summer.  There are actually several species of rapidly bluing boletes so I'll let a trusted identifier take it from here.  Just for kicks though, I'm gonna guess Boletus Regius.

You ever seen that movie Constantine.  Well they pass into hell several times.  In hell there are melting human bodies, in your tub are melting mushroom bodies.  Your tub had passed into mushroom hell.
