Thanks weiliiiiiii:toast:

Thanks lacma, I'm using a friends camera.  It's a canon powershot A590.
The cars are old, old cars.  You'll see them alot around here in side channels of rivers, and in creeks.  Farmers used to put them there for flood control.  It doesn't hurt the creatures.

The one growing in sandy cottonwood sapling inhabited floodplain might be
Psathyrella ammophila. That sandwich looks fucking delicious by the way.

Looks like the Montana spring season is going strong Landsnorkler.  Those are nice high res pics, I like all the in-situ shots.

The morel season here in Washington is just starting to go full swing, so I imagine it will start out there pretty soon now.  I expect to see your bountiful harvests posted here soon

Very cool pics man

Those white mushrooms sure look like the ones that i find about a week ago.
They just could be a Calocybe gambosa..

When I saw the cars in the river I thought;
Fook me they must have some crazy beavers damming rivers with cars...
They use them for flood control?
Guess they don't give a shit about ascetics or landscape beauty!!!!
Great photo's BTW...

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Boomer, when we get some good rains hopefully the big morel hauls will begin.

Mikael, I agree accept that Calocybe gambosa is not supposed to occur here.  More research is needed!

Spores, I've noticed that oysters on elevated logs tend to have less bugs (maggots in particular), as well as oysters that don't come into contact with the ground.

Zaka, The beavers around here are pretty speculative and experimental.

I got the skinny on the cars.  I think they were used more for erosion control than flood control.
