How does this happen? (shrooms)

I have a compost pile in the corner of my back yard, where I dump contaminated grain & old bulks, but yesterday I was cleaning up my backyard and I noticed a mushroom growing, identified as P. Cubensis.... but it was way on the other side of the back yard, not anywhere close to the compost pile.
Also, I dug under the ground a little bit and I didn't see any kind of mycelium colony.

Any ideas how that got from one side of the yard to another and also have no noticable mycelium network under it?

only thing i can say, is earth/nature is beautiful, it would be interesting to know, but perhaps there is no answer to this natural beauty =p

animals, insects moved the contaminants?

One time I threw up all my shrooms about 3 hours into a trip and within an hour there was a pile of ants on them (mind you I had fasted a full 24 before consumption so there wasn't anything else in my stomach) by morning all the shrooms had been eaten.  All I can think is that spores were transported like this
