Mushrooms are eager to be "Birthed" What ever shall I do??
    #10355630 - 05/17/09 09:09 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

I have a bunch of 1/2 pint jars going and I am using the pf tek. The jars are not fully colonized yet(the bottoms in the center) Here is the problem...I already have mushrooms growing inside the jars. I mean at first there were tiny pins I could see through the glass, now some of them are two inches and even three inches long!!! I was wanting to let them colonize another week, but am unsure of what is best as this is my first shot at growing my own zoomers. Should I just let the little mushies go? Or should I be birthing these cakes? There are about 3-4 mushrooms in 8 out of 12 jars, and as I noted some are as big as three inches already, please advise what I should do. Thank you very much for any help you can lend. Wish I could get my hands on my camera so I could show some pics.

You can leave the pins on for the dunk, they'll keep on growing. I would only pick them if they seem almost matured or are in some way fucking shit up.
