can i use tyvek

over my mono tub holes instead of polyfil? and also since im using tyvek i dont need polyfil in my jars for a gas exchanger the tyvek does it right?

You can use the tyvek as long as you think you're tub is getting enough FAE. ???  Other people have, but other people also have tubs with no holes.... :gonzo:

In regards to the jar filters, use the poly-fil plugged into the hole in the lid UNDER the tyvek....You will have way less chance of contams.  The tyvek by itself can get damp and bring in some contams, not to mention the hole you put in it during inoculation (well, if you 'noc through the lid). ~Pixie~

You get less FAE with the tyvek, better to go with polyfil.

yeah, way less fae with tyvek. its more for gas xchange for jars or smaller containers.


I would stick with polyfill, it seems the standard.
