Probably too long. I'd toss it.

You don't need to soak, simmer or dry.

That's not true. I once soaked WBS for 36 hours and all the jars I soaked them in stank vile and half of them already had a fur. Anything beyond 24 hours = fail boat + toss that shit.

I tried like, 5 different ways of soaking, simmering and such for WBS and none of them worked, I just kept having really moist WBS.
The link I showed you has been the only method that has shown any growth after the shake at 20%

Leave them to dry sitting inside a large strainer and mix the seeds up every half hour or so and they'll be dry enough on the outside after about 3-4 hours. Personally I am through with WBS, though. Rye all the way FTW.

i cook my wbs no matter how stinky, never had a problem with them, but the shit is so cheap, toss it if it makes you feel better. I usually soak mine for 20-30 hrs.

"Stinky" and "half colonized by contams" is a bit of a difference. All grains will start to smell "not nice" after a few hours of soaking.

I've had plenty of success this way too. I usually shook after they cooled which was hard cause the grain was clumpy, but I am sure that shaking every 30 min would cure that.
