I had some colonized jars sitting outside in my barn all winter when it was down to -30F, and when I brought them in and warmed them up, they were fine. Hopefully, that answers your question. RR

dude, i have like 5 jars (they're first generation, so they're special ) in the frig, waiting to be used in some fashion. Yet, i dont think one would want the temp. to drop below freezing.... Heck, actually im pretty sure even doing that wouldnt do anything
On another note though, it is best not to rapidly change the temp more than 5 degrees at a time. For this causes condensation and makes your jar more prone to cotams (i think that's the reason anyway).
what you do gotta worry about is going too high! I think i heard 100f is mycelia death, not sure though...

Lol..-30f, that's nuts man. Just goes to show how hardy these mushrooms really are. as far as the OP, just like everyone else says, too low temps won't harm you any, just slow your growth wayyy down, or stop growth completely as they go into 'myc-hibernation' , just watch out for too HIGH temps, those can and will kill mycelium. most of the mycelium we work with has a thermal death point of around 95f. goodluck.

How much slower is the growth though? And I'm talking about like 50-60 range.

At 60F, colonization would be about twice as long as at 75F. RR
