New cacti!

Okay.
I picked-up three new cacti today. One of them, the Lophophora had an injury sustained to it. I took everything to a friend's house that lets me keep this type of stuff there. One of my trip buddies!
Perhaps you guys can tell me if the soils look okay, if I've misidentified any of them, if I used the wrong type of pots (they absorb water, you can see it), and if the Loph will survive!!
Here we go:
Lophophora williamsii (variant Texana?? maybe)
Echinopsis lageniformis (Syn. Trichocereus bridgesii)
Trichocereus Terscheckii
All Three (Notice how the pots absorb the water? Those aren't shadows!)
Lophophora Injury Shot #1
Lophophora Injury Shot #2
Lophophora Injury Shot #3
So, do the terra cotta pots work? Will the Loph survive? Which variant Loph is it? Probably need to see a flower right? Do the soils look okay?
Loph 40% Potting Soil 50% Perlite 10% Sand
Other Cacti 50% Potting Soil 40% Perlite 10% Sand
I'll add 1/4 cup of water twice per week. I'll use a VERY diluted fertilizer twice per month. I'll add a pinch of calcium carbonate once every six months.
That's it! Any advice or comments would be helpful at this point!
Thanks all!!

Your loph should be fine, it'll scab over and dent in a bit, but not to worry.
That pot is quite large for such a small loph as well; a smaller pot would be more appropriate, and will not hold water as long as that large pot will. Also, I would cut back your amount of potting soil in your loph medium if your growing indoors. And twice a week is too much water for lophophora, especially in that medium.

You're right, that Loph looks so tiny in that huge pot!
So then, I'll get a smaller pot, I'll do 30% soil, 60% perlite, and 10% sand.
Can you tell which variant it is yet??

I'm not certain myself, perhaps doc or others could tell you for sure. But yeah, smaller pot, less soil, less frequent watering, and you should be good to go Also, what is the nature of that injury? Looks like rodent nibble, lol

Not sure what the injury is from, but if it was a rodent he's probably in cartoon-land right about now!!!
Unless they lack the receptors in their brains... but still funny to think about!
Damn it! Less soil! I asked yesterday and everybody said my mix was good!!
Oh well, I'll do it.

That mix is fine if you take care not to water to often, and in combination with a smaller pot. It all depends on how fast the water leaves the container

This will be difficult to assess.
I'm very green, and I don't mean my thumb.
I can probably do a 1/4 cup per week on the Loph and be safe then. That okay??
I mean, does the pot REALLY matter that much?

Oh and just FYI.
The Loph pot looks like it has more soil, simply because I put a light layer of soil on top, so it's deceptive.
That might be why you thought I had too much soil. It's just the top and only sprinkled soil.

no one can tell you what variation of williamsii that is. maybe when it is a large mature plant, but even then it will be guess work. if you have to label it, label it L. williamsii.

Just water when the cacti soil is dry. During the growing season, water heavy. It will be fine.
The pot will be okay. While it is a little large, its nothing to fret over.
As uare said, just label it LW. It could be a texana. Who knows.

Just FYI. I was told that injury will be better with fresh air.

Sehr gut.
Yes, fresh air is good.
I would have let it heal before repotting, or potted it into dry soil - kept dry for a few weeks atleast.
Plus you should replace that top layer of soil with coarse sand.

I'm new.
That coarse sand idea will be implemented.
I have like "sandbox" type sand in there at about 10%.
Is there better sand??

Good luck
id'ing lophs based on pictures is a shitty practice. there are sooooo many variables and variations within a single group of plants that there is no way to pin a loph down to a locality without knowing where it came from to start with.
