Found this in my backyard
    #10297358 - 05/06/09 03:04 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

It's early spring in ontario and the temp is around 15-18c
Cap: Brown with rings of a lighter brown going around the circumference of the base. There was a slight indication of one near the top (but not At the top of the cap) At the very top it's brown with a little dimple.

The gills have a little distance between each other, not much but enough to notice. The spore print was purple blackish, more blackish though.

It was found in my backyard on a dead patch of grass which is probably my dogs fault. The stem was much lighter at the bottom then at the top.

It had smaller versions of itself in a cluster but not same base (I don't think)  couldn't find any other in the yard, besides that area.

Its been drying in a plastic bag now for about 2 hours and its turning almost completely brown, the markings around the circumference i mentioned earlier are almost indistinguishable.

It looked somewhat like this:

Thank you for anyone that responds.

Also, its like this one but it is lacking the second smaller ring at the top of the cap

That goes away as it dries out.

Maybe thats the second ring at the top?

No, Panaeolus papilionaceus looks different.
